Hello, I want to dive straight into today's stories from Beffen,

and she says I'm a paramedic in the northwest of England.

Four years ago, I was newly qualified and called to a cardiac arrest.

We arrived within six minutes.

I said that I'd got first with the defibrillator

and my crewmate would grab everything else and follow.

The front door to the flats was locked.

I pressed every single flat buzzer.

a lady in her mid-50s and a nightie came to the door and let me in.

She said, quickly, love, you need it up there and pointed upstairs.

I headed up and found a young lady doing CPR on a lady in a nighty.

She was beside herself saying the older woman had collapsed eating her breakfast.

I went round to the head end of the patient to start CPR.

And that's when I saw that the patient was the same woman

who had let me in downstairs. I must have turned white because when my crewmate arrived,

he asked if I was okay. I said, I'm fine and we managed to get an ROSC return off spontaneous

circulation and she thankfully lived. Ten more minutes of me banging on that door and her chances would not have been good.

I later told my more experienced crewmate about it

and he said you're a real paramedic.
