rattle around. Ah it's such a beautiful night. The darkness, like a living thing,

pressing in all around, and the fog, the cold damp fog, rolling in from the void, seeping through our clothes and chilling our bones. Oh, who am I trying to kid? This is but a tape recording. Let me shut it off.

There, now it's just you and I, listeners, and the bumper cars that continue to go round and

round, even though there are no drivers.

And here we are, long, dark and dismal.

So nice to be back.

Oh, the fairground thing was but a cheery ruse,

a small attempt by me to redress the balance, to counteract to recent claims of horrific content and

gory goings on in the Hall of Mirrorrors Podcast. And so this week, listeners, I will create a balance.

For these are not simply tales of horror and the grotesque, but also tales of people in unusual circumstances.

And as we come now to the fifth mirror in the hall, I can tell you that it is into such unusual circumstances

that we are bound.

Oh yes, there's a light dusting of the horrific, a little dash of the grotesque, but nothing like
