I'll tell you what, this is an interesting story.

And I don't know you guys, when you came into the league, because you're younger than I am. But in 1971, I'm playing for the New York Jets. I was drafted by the Jets. And so we're at Shea Stadium. We opened the season that year with Buffalo, I'm pretty sure it's Shea.

And I'm sitting out for whatever reason we'd been through, but I guess I wouldn't

sitting around them when we played the exhibition games.

Back in those days, you played six of those things. Can you believe that? Six games. I can't imagine. Exhibition games. Yeah. Crazy. What the hell is this? Yeah. And you're in camp for about eight weeks, you know, two weeks before and then you start that stuff.

But I remember sitting at my locker in Emerson Boozer, they were the running back, number 32 for people that are of that age would know what I'm talking about. He's sitting beside me. He'd always do this every game afterwards, but obviously it was one of his rituals. You know, we'd been out for warm-up. We coming back going to put our pads on because back in those days

you'd go out without your pads on just a helmet but actually we didn't have a helmet's on i remember eddie bell the receiver almost got knocked out before the game when he had a collision with somebody but we'd come back inside we're getting ready to go out and you know play the game and emerson sat in there with his pants pulled down around his knees and he's smoking a cigarette and that's when I said
