And I'm Emily. And today we are here with the trackside reporter for Supercross and Pro

Motorcross. And she's actually doing her first outdoors. It is the lovely Haley Shanley.

Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to be here, excited to be in sunny California.

Like you said, it just happens to be my debut with the broadcast team this weekend. So I'm excited.

Couldn't be more happy to be here. Well, thank you for taking your time and joining us. We really

appreciate it. And okay, so let's start from the beginning. You went to school. I went to school for broadcast journalism and public relations. So in along the way, like I had changed my degree path a few times. Like I wanted to go to school for broadcast, but then I realized like I got a little bit discouraged. And just, but part of that was from our broadcast program at the university.

I was at the time.

So I'm like, you know what?

I'm going to switch to sports management.

I can still find a career in Modo with sports management.

But then the light came back on and I'm like, nope, back to media is.

This is what I want to do.

I'm going to stick by my guns, and then I get to my junior year, last few, or senior year, my last few semesters,

and you know what? I got a job in production, and I was working with my boyfriend now,

husband, and I'm like, you know what, I don't know that I need a degree to do this specifically.

I feel like I'm going to learn so much more in the field and any technology I'm learning about is going to be antiquated in a few years. So I'm like, I'm just going to switch rue my credits

and then boom, got a PR degree. But when people ask what I went to school for, short story long,

I went to school for broadcast predominantly, but that's what my degree is. Right. So how did you

get your start in motosports media?

Yeah.

So being a passionate race fan, so growing up, I grew up in Minnesota near Minneapolis, and where I'm from, Snowcross, and especially at the time, was huge.
