It's like working with Afghanistan, right?

And I remember when we were evacuating athletes from Afghanistan in 2021 and the entire evacuation, everything that was happening in Afghanistan at the time.

As a Marine, I was struggling with it on a sort of macro level because I'm like, man, we've just spent 20 years

trying to empower women in this society and do these things. And on a very personal micro level,

right, I've just spent the last four years, five years trying to empower these specific women.

And because of the actions that I took and the activities that I, like, led with them, I have put them in harm's way.

I have a responsibility to ensure that those athletes are protected.

And I feel similarly about, you know, athletes that we've brought into the NWSL.

If I'm going to bring them into this environment, then I have a responsibility to ensure that they're protected in this environment. That is quite

literally my job.
