The human race is built to size each other up quickly. First impressions happen fast and they're

stubborn. Research says it takes anywhere from four seconds to two minutes for a person to make

their initial impression about you and once an impression is formed, it's very, very hard to change it.

Even after multiple encounters with that person and presented with lots of evidence to counteract

that initial impression.

And while you might wish opinions about you were based on your intelligence or experience,

most studies show that first impressions are shaped by what can be seen or heard in those first few initial seconds.

First impressions are very important because what first impressions form is a filter through which we see
