You went home to London.

I went home to London, which was really nice and really rainy, but very nice.

Where were you?

I was in California where blessedly it was warm and sunny and my toddler got to run into the ocean.

It was crazy.

You look sun-kissed.

It was delightful.

So that was very nice.

But it was riddled with push alerts from the New York Times about various legends who were passing away.

First, it was Pele, then Vivian Westwood, then Barbara Walters, then the Pope.

Sorry, not the Pope, the Pope Emeritus.

Right, right, right.

It is such a strange thing to me that, you know, a few high-profile people always pass around the holidays, you know?
