Nearly everything we do in life is the result of our habits.

The best thing we can do is to keep God first in everything, so let's get disciplined about spending time with him.

We're talking about breaking bad habits and making good habits.

We said last night, you can break up with a bad habit

just like you can break up with a bad boyfriend.

Now, the thing is, is, you know,

if that bad boyfriend's the only boyfriend you got, even though he was making unhappy, you're still going to miss him for a while.

Isn't it amazing how even though things are bad for us, if we get them out of our life, there's still a part of us that misses them for a while.

And that's the part that we just have to kind of go through

while we're giving God a chance to be God in our lives. They say that you can make or break a habit.

One group says 21 days. One says 30 days. I always heard 30 days. But I know from my own experience

that if you can manage to do something consistently

for 30 days, or if you can manage to not do something consistently for 30 days, you have pretty

much farmed a new habit. And when you have a habit of something, it's very often something that you do

without even realizing that you're doing it.

We've all got silly little habits.

We don't have to break every habit that we've got,

but certainly we need to break the ones that are destructive,

and we need to make good ones.
