Many of you have heard the story of John Newton.

for which him. Amazing grace and has become immortalized. But John Newton met Mary Catlett when they were both still teenagers,

and he was unconverted. And then in his early 20s, he came to know Christ, his life was transformed,

and about two years after his conversion, these two who had fallen in love as teenagers were finally married.

Mary and John loved each other passionately, and they had an extraordinary marriage

by all accounts. Newton could never imagine living without Mary, and so he always assumed that he
