The calendar has now turned to September.

Today, September 1st, means football's here.

Opening week of the NFL season, Thursday will have the season opener.

Cowboys on the road taken on the defending champs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Commanders will get their season underway on Sunday against the New York Giants.

Had the opportunity late last week to catch up with commanders rookie wide receiver Jalen Lane.

Here's my conversation with the rookie.

Jalen, how's your first NFL training camp been and getting set up for

your rookie season? Man, it's been amazing. It's a blessing to be here. Got a lot of great people

and just like to compete, like to work. And it's a good situation of being. What's the biggest

difference between an NFL training camp and a college training camp?

I don't know.

I'd say one big difference I've seen is a lot more focus on the mental side than the physical side.

You know, in college, it's a lot of live fears, a lot of hitting.

But, you know, here, you know, you try to take care of your teammates,

stuff like that, obviously. But, you know, you got to take the walkthroughs. And even during

practices when they're not live and stuff like that, you got to just put your mindset in that

game kind of mindset. So when you get out there on Sunday as you're prepared.
