So we wanted to get into this story coming out of L.A. from yesterday.

The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner was shot by LAPD yesterday and later arrested on suspicion

of attempted murder according to the LAPD.

This is bizarre.

So the shooting occurred as officers were doing a search of an Eagle Rock neighborhood after a hit-and-run

crash on the 134 freeway yesterday afternoon that did not involve the couple.

There was a hit-and-run accident, and the suspects took off and ran into the neighborhood.

Yeah, they fled from the crash scene into the neighborhood about eight miles northeast of downtown L.A.

It sounds like they ran into her backyard.

So according to the LAPD, officers approached the rear of a home in the 5,300 block

of Waldo Place and spotted a woman later identified as Shriner who was, quote, armed with

a handgun in the yard of a neighboring residence.

Officers ordered her to drop the handgun numerous times.

However, she refused.

Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers,

prompting at least one to open fire.
