All right, hour two of Gun Talk, glad you could be with us.

We're visiting with some of our friends today, folks from the firearms business.

Also, tell me a little bit about news stories that are going on out there.

What's happening?

New ammunition, we've got a new 22 Magnum roundout called a personal defense round from Spear that I mentioned

last hour.

A lot of things happening.

And as I look at the world of firearms and through the perspective of writing about

them and covering them and being avidant for more than 40 years,

there are a lot of very good guns out there.

And we have a lot of new guns out there.

But the truth is, a lot of the new guns are just variations on the old guns.

I mean, yeah, you've got to tricked out in 2011, but it's still in 1911, right?

And we have, you know, glocks and XDs and M&Ps and, yeah, but they're still pistols.

But if there's an area where things have really changed, and I mean really changed,

it's got to be in the ammunition.

And probably that's a factor of people realizing that, particularly with handgun ammo, for defensive use, a handgun is not a great choice.

You use it because you have it.

You use it because you are allowed to carry one, or you can carry one.

It's harder to carry a shotgun or a rifle around with you at the mall. People get freaky about that.
