Hello, Tom. I wanted to ask you, I've got a good friend that I went to target

shooting with here a while back and he had the

nineteen eleven five inch barrel forty five and I just fell in love with it but

uh... i wanted something a little smaller for personal carry and I ran across this Springfield GI

micro compact 45 and I was just wondering if I could get your impression on it.

Now that's the three inch barrel if I remember right.

Yes, sir.

Okay. I have a couple of three inch, well I may have more than that, but at least a couple of three inch barrel 45s and they work great.

But, and here's my butt on this. I like them, they carry well, etc.

I have kind of moved back away from the 3 inch barrel 1911's for really only one reason.

I'm settling the compromise position of four inch guns if I want something that's a little smaller if because of the way I carry I carry inside the

waistband and inside the waistband the barrel length doesn't matter at all

It's out of the way. It doesn't it the concealment at all. A shorter grip is going to help with concealment. But the barrel length doesn't matter.

Four inch barrels are easier to shoot. Four inch barrels are going to give you more velocity, which is important,
