Five years ago today Hurricane Katrina went through and the city of New Orleans flooded.

The two were not exactly the same thing, but there are a lot of lessons to be learned.

First of those is depend upon yourself and no one else. Talking

Welcome to Gun Talk. Tom Gresham here. Yes, it's going to be, this is going to be one of those shows. I can guarantee you. It's just got that feel to it's got, it's got one of those shows that people are going to talk about, because let me tell

you, we've got some stuff to talk about.

Got some things that are heavy on my heart, heavy on my mind that I want to talk to you about.

I got some things that I'm just flat out mad about and involves the NRA.

I'm mad at the NRA right now and I'm going to be letting you know what's going on there and we're going

to be talking to a group that sometimes frankly upsets some gun owners but I

will tell you it's a group of gun owners that is very active politically and very savvy politically.

We're going to be talking to those folks.

But let me do this before we get started.

Today is the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and I'm

down here just on the outskirts of New Orleans right now.

In a side note, Hurricane Katrina when it hit, I didn't know it.

That sounds weird. I didn't even know there was a hurricane.

Well, that's because I there was a hurricane.

Well, that's because I was on a mountain,

on the side of a mountain, in Alaska, just south of Fairbanks

and a bit up there doing the field producing on a television show about a sheep hunt.
