You're listening to a reloaded version of Gun Talk. Welcome again to Gun Talk. I'm Tom Gresham, your host. Yeah, I know, I know, I know. New Year's resolutions. But you know what? It is a time to take stock, try to figure out, okay, what do I want to do? What am I prepared to do? What would I like to change, well, about anything?

Well, would I like to change something about myself, or I like to change something about the country?

Can I do both at the same time?

Well, actually, yeah, probably so.

You know, what do they say?

All politics is local.

Yeah, true enough.

And the things you do for others often results in big benefits to yourself.

One of the things that I'm hearing people doing, it's interesting, is people who are certainly understanding the need to go get shooting lessons, to get training, whether it's, you say, okay, I'm going to become a trap shooter.

Great.

Get some instruction.

Skeet shooter, sporting clays, pistol, rifle, I don't care.

But most especially, if you're going to get a gun for self-protection, please, please, please, please, please, get some instruction, get some training from somebody who's not just a firearms instructor, but somebody who is actually a self-defense firearms instructor.

It's a big difference.

It's like it's the difference between getting somebody who teaches driver's ed or getting someone
