Well I was just doing a show today and as a gun rights advocate I would like to ask you a question

have you read the recent political article by Michael Waldman how the NRA rewrote the Second Amendment?

No I have not. I don't go to political for my information.

Okay well I'd like to ask your opinion on it.

Basically, it, uh, uh, Waldman has some pretty compelling evidence that in the mid-1970s the NRA began political

lobbying and basically changed the American public opinion on how the Second Amendment should be interpreted.

And that before the mid-70s, the Second Amendment was not widely interpreted to advocate personal gun ownership and instead just for militia.

There's some truth to that and that I was there in the 70s, believe or not, when the NRA made a change in their

perspective and their approach. Basically, it all came together in 1977 in Cincinnati at the NRA's annual meetings there.

I was there for that.

Before that, the NRA was primarily a hunting group.
