extra episodes. This recording is of Neil McCarthy. He was the Senior Council for former Minister

for Finance, Charles Hahi. The case for the defence was closed and Neil McCarthy was making his closing submission to the jury.

This is a rare piece of tape really

because Neil McCarthy was the great star of the Law Library at the time. He went on to become a judge of the

Supreme Court and was probably the most brilliant judge on that Supreme Court until his

unfortunate early demise in a car accident with his wife several years later while he was on the

bench. And here we have his presentation at the end of Hawy's evidence, making the case for the

innocence of his client.

It's curiously understated.

McCarthy doesn't, there isn't a great flamboyance about the delivery here.
