Because today's 10 years, since 20 first graders and six teachers were murdered in a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary

School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Mark Barden lost his seven-year-old son Daniel.

Nicole Hawley lost her six-year-old son, Dylan. They are the Daniel. teachers about warning signs that someone might attempt to harm others.

The nonprofit says they have their programs have led to 2,900 plus mental health intervention

saving at least 378 students from suicide, which is great.

It's wonderful.

It's moving.

It's what citizens do.

Politicians, that's another story. I want to play Chris Murphy, the senator from Connecticut.

Here he is 10 years later reflecting on the generation of children, his own included, who have had to grow up in America living in fear.

My kids are amongst this generation that has grown up knowing nothing except for the threat of a mass shooting. I'll never forget my kindergartner, who's

now a fifth grader coming home and telling me about his first active shooter drill.

He didn't exactly know what it was, right?

He was five years old.

He said, dad, my teacher told us all

to go to the bathroom today.

All of us, all 26 of us, she packed this into the bathroom.

He described the fact that they were standing in the bathroom all tight together like sardines.
