The White House just came out with a plan to deal with gun violence in schools

and lawmakers are expected to start voting on it fairly soon.

Included, a plan to train teachers and staff who volunteer to carry concealed

weapons in schools. Not included, President Trump's earlier idea to raise the age

requirement to buy guns. But it does address the issue at least some. The

Wall Street Journal says the White House wants to start a new federal panel to

study some possible changes to the law like changing the age requirement. There are several other things

in the proposed plan like working with the mental health systems and reviewing the

FBI tip line. Supporters say it will definitely help with school safety and it's real action.

Critics say it's just a tiny step and the president caved to the NRA, the National Rifle Association,

especially on the age thing.

Again, lawmakers still need to vote on this.

Although there's one more move.
