She burst onto the queer indie movie scene in the early 90s with Go Fish, went on to

write American Psycho, a film we have talked extensively about on this show.

Not only did she title the show The L Word, but she was a writer on the early seasons and played

the first hot villain on the show, Gabby DeVoe. She has more stories. Well, I hope that we can

told me that last night you took your girlfriend to the cubby hole because she had never been to a

lesbian bar or she'll wait, what did you say? She'd never been to a lesbian bar in New York or

she'd never been to one. She had only been to two in her life and one was in Bay Routin, one was in

Philadelphia. And so she'd never been to a lesbian bar in New York. How long has she lived here?

In New York for three years. She was in grad school and then there was COVID. But I had no,

I didn't do the cubby hole in forever. So I didn't know what to expect. This is very local news,

but how was it last night? It was a Wednesday night and it was, you know, pumpin. It was crowded.

Everybody was laughing, talking outside smoking. It was really fun. And you know, we were sort of,

she was sort of looking around like, oh, it's those are like the at leisure lesbians and those are

like the, you know, she was just trying to like, you know, you know, find categories. And I was like,

am I the oldest person here? And I looked around and I was like, no, there's like a boob woman

in my age. And then later on, I was like, now I can just look up and I know exactly who's my age

because they're the only people who recognize me. That's fun. Did anybody recognize you last night?
