director Guillermo del Toro suggests that you do so in 3D on the biggest screen possible.

In this futuristic epic, war is waged between Japanese sea monsters and man-made robots.

For Del Toro, part of the fun of a genre film is periodically reminding the audience of its massive scale, which he does by contrasting scenes of giants in underwater battles with a shot of a clicking Newton's cradle in a deserted office building.

Guillermo talks about the challenges of making a film that functions as a summer blockbuster,

but articulates something very different.

Plus, why it's taken him five years to make another movie since Hellboy 2.
