We love coming out to your church here, what God has done through you guys and girls and people.

The Lord has done great, great things.

And I feel a kinship in ministry with JD.

He's such a good friend of mine and such a phenomenal Bible teacher.

And I hate him for it because he's so good.

And he teaches the word like I wish I could

and but we we like love to talk you know when I get on the phone with JD that's my next 45

minutes guaranteed because we just have so many great things to talk about because God's done a great

work here and for our church we have a different thing going on, but we recently bought

a property, and we have a ranch, and we don't even have walls. So I'm so jealous of this great

place God has given you. And yet we have horses, and you don't have that, so you can be jealous back.

We have horses and manure. So if you can be

jealous about manure, we have it. And if you want any, I'll give it to you for free. But tonight

we're going to talk about love and we're going to talk about friendship. We're going to talk about

a little bit of romance. But overall, we're going to talk about redemption from the book of Ruth.

So this week and next, we're going to be looking at the book of Ruth in two parts.

And I hope that you will enjoy this beautiful book. What a wonderful passage of scripture that is both a love story, almost like a romantic short story.

And yet, when we look at it through spiritual eyes,

we understand that it is God's love story for us, because Ruth is a type or a foreshadowing

of God's people in the church. And Boaz is a type of Christ. He is called the Redeemer or a relative. In fact, this book of Ruth

is where we see this word in Hebrew so many times, Goel. Goel is a Hebrew word for redeemer. It was a

relative of the family that could pay off all of your debts and set you free if your land had been taken.
