| 0:00.0 | Hello everybody. My name is Yarn and welcome to a special episode of the Blue Mind |
| 0:07.0 | ASMR podcast. Today I'm going to be doing a bit of a history lesson, more so like a mystery |
| 0:19.0 | kind of deal. So put in some headphones and relax and go on this ride with me. |
| 0:26.9 | Today we're talking about the mystery of D.B. Cooper, a man who in 1971 took a flight from |
| 0:35.1 | Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington, where he proceeded to take the airplane ransom, followed by a bomb threat for a ransom of $200,000. |
| 0:45.3 | Afterwards, he told the airplane pilots to fly towards Mexico City, which halfway through, he jumped out, and him and the money were never seen again. |
| 0:57.0 | So, before we start, all of the sources I used for this episode will be in the description. |
| 1:08.0 | So if you want to check up on any of this, you can. So the story begins in late |
| 1:19.8 | 1971. A nondescript man of very plain features entered Flight 305 under the alias of Dan Cooper. |
| 1:30.4 | See, back then, identification wasn't required for a lot of these things, so you could get on a |
| 1:37.1 | plane with a fake ID, or no idea at all, you just said who you were, you could get a hotel room, |
| 1:42.8 | you could buy various difficult items, |
| 1:46.2 | such as firearms, stuff like that. So him being able to get on the plane using a fake name was no |
| 1:53.0 | problem at all. So he gets on the plane, everything's fine. Once the airplane takes off, |
| 2:00.2 | he asks for the stewardess, and he gives her a note. |
| 2:03.6 | He tells her, he says, ma'am, please give this to the pilot, but he knew that she would |
| 2:10.6 | probably open it, so the note said, quote, Miss, I have a bomb in my briefcase. |
| 2:16.6 | I want you to sit right next to me, and then there's some indistinguisible writing. |
| 2:24.3 | As I looked over it, I couldn't really read what else it said. |
| 2:30.3 | But then he said, write the response on a piece of paper upon his request referring to the pilot. |
| 2:39.0 | So naturally as she opened in reddit she came back to him and the man opened the briefcase next to his person. |
| 2:50.0 | And what was described inside was a bunch of wires, |
