Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Teresa, you know, I just came back from leading a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.

And I am more and more convinced that Guadalupe might be the most important event in the last thousand years and so very few people

know about it. So after the Rosary you and I are going to discuss the significance of this event for today

and what our lady is asking of us.

But the Aztec people, it's an amazing history.

They believed their God,

Wietzley Lopolta Lee, made them the chosen people and called them across a great desert, probably Arizona and

and New Mexico, to the promised land, the Valley of Mexico City. Now their God was known to them as the

Sun God of war and the Serpent God under the sign of the crescent moon.

And he threatened them that he would not rise and so the world would perish unless they offered sacrifice, human sacrifice, every day.

Now, the Aztec God was Satan in disguise, but he enslaved the Mexican people by fear, established a religion to himself,

and he demanded that he would be worshipped by a temple sacrifice, not with the sacrifice of lambs, but of people.
