Why would I be playing music by Levan Helm on The Gone to the Dog's Podcast, you ask?

Well, here we are in the latter part of September, almost going into October.

And one more month, November, my buddy Nubbin more, and I'll be heading out to the White River in Arkansas.

And to make the connection to Levon, LeVon was born in E. Lane, Arkansas, which is just south of St. Charles, where we usually stay.

LeVon, of course, was very, very popular for a lot of songs the night they drove old Dixie

down being one of them.

But anyway, Levin was born in Elaine, Arkansas, May 26th of 1940, and regretfully passed away on April 19, 2012.
