Go with me, if you would, to the book of Ephesians, and let's continue in what we have begun some weeks back.

The scripture says in Ephesians 4 and the 11th verse, he gave some apostles and some prophets and some evangelists and some evangelists and some

pastors and teachers.

Now here's why he gave these ministry gifts.

For the perfecting of the saints.

The what of the saints?

Now we found out that that word means what?

Perfect.

What does it mean?

To be perfected.

Well, let me tell you what it doesn't mean.

It doesn't mean flawless.

We use it that way in our modern vernacular, but look up the words.

That's not what he's talking about.

When we think perfect, we think without fault, without defect, flawless.

That's not what this word means in the scripture here it means brought to its end

it means and this is a good word complete complete another way of saying it is lacking nothing

necessary to completeness.

Now we see if you read the rest of the passage that he's talking about growing up.

And you know in the natural, a child is born and everything's normal and proper.

They begin to grow, but there's a place where they have reached the completion of their physical development.

And that's the kind of thing he's talking about.
