Would you turn this morning to the book of Ephesians?

We've been on the subject for some days now, some weeks I should say.

The subject of growing up.

Everybody say growing up.

And Ephesians 4 has been our text.

So let's read it. Ephesians 4, verse 7 says to every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Wherefore he says, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men.

Verse 11, he gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists,

some pastors, and teachers for, why did he give them? For the perfecting of the saints.

For the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God

unto a perfect man, a mature man, a complete man, fully developed man,

unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

What will you look like and sound like when you grow up fully?

The master.

That we henceforth be no more children.

Are you supposed to be a spiritual child for 40 years?

No, you're not.

You're supposed to develop.

Toss to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the slight of men and cunning craftiness,

whereby they lie and wait to deceive.

But speaking the truth in love may grow up.
