Today we're going to talk about my favorite type of fruit tree in the world and that would be the vast world of citrus.

think you know it is such a shame for anybody in Southern California not to have a small

collection of citrus varieties where they can grow fruit varieties that they can harvest off of just about year round.

I've been in one way or another involved in the citrus industry and the citrus nursery industry for well over 40 years.

And I have quite a collection of my own and I will honestly say I eat some

citrus every single day.

Yeah. So you've got such a diversification of varieties.

You have oranges and you've got summer varieties, you know, winter varieties, you have mandarants. You've got varieties that ripen up over a very long period of time you can you can grow three or four successive ripening mandarins and have fruit from

November all the way through mid to late summer. In fact, almost every year I get an

opportunity with my gold nugget or tango mandarin where I can eat the last fruit or couple of fruit on the tree right around

Thanksgiving day and I can also pick my very first satsuma Mandarin or Kishu.

Yeah. So you know with a few varieties that I have, I pretty much have 12 months worth of successive ripening mandarins. That is fantastic.
