week with Christi. Well, Helmi, she is the founder of Garden Nerd, a blog that I have read

and found actually quite a long time ago when I was starting Epic Gardening. She's also

the author of the upcoming book, Grow Your Own Mini Fruit Garden, which will be the theme

at least in part of this week of episodes. So welcome to the show, Christi. Thank you so much.

Happy to be here. Yeah, like I said, Garden Nerd has been around for quite some time and I think

maybe we should start out with just a little bit of that backstory. Yeah, sure. So I left my day job

to do Garden Nerd 13 years ago this year. And it's specializing in small space, biointensive,

vegetable and fruit gardening because I started in a small space. I started with a balcony and

then I got a patio and then I got a community garden and now I have a backyard. But I'm still

growing a lot of stuff in a small space. And so I find that most people need a little help learning

that technique. So I spend a lot of time talking about that with folks. Perfect. And this new book,

I know you have a couple of books out, but what's the impetus behind the new book? What was the

reasoning for that one? Right. So Cool Springs Press came to me and asked if I would write this book

for them because I because I specialize in small space gardening. They thought this would be a great

great book for me to write. So I have gardening for geeks, which is the vegetable component of small

space gardening. But now I get to focus on growing fruits in small spaces. So it's the idea of

whether you have a balcony, a patio or more space than that to grow some kind of fruit in your garden

and enjoy it at home, which is the best kind of fruit ever. Oh yeah, I couldn't agree more. I mean,

I'm setting up, I guess for the first time, maybe I'm not so many fruit garden here at my homestead,

but I think it might make sense to just give everyone a bit of an overview of what actually is

going on in your fruit garden right now. Like what do you grow in and how's it set up?
