The Free. Freedom is important. Very few people would argue that point and yet when the

0:29.9

Corinthian believers became preoccupied with asserting their rights.

0:34.6

The apostle Paul had to shift their focus.

0:37.8

And today on Truth for Life, we'll learn how exercising Christian freedom properly can be life-changing, but if we use our freedom

0:46.2

wrongly, that can be a challenge.

Alistairbegg is continuing our study in 1st Corinthians, we're looking at the closing verses of chapter 10.

There was Jesus who said, and you'll find this in John Chapter 8 if you're looking for it

2:08.0

surprising that our culture should be so confused as to the nature of freedom as it clearly is. And all the

2:18.1

scrambling of our day in relationship to human sexuality and in the realm of education and in the concerns of family life

2:28.3

display a manifold absence of any grasp at all of the nature of genuine freedom. Indeed, most of what is

2:38.0

held out to people as freedom is in actual fact some form of bondage. The question of freedom is a relevant question

2:46.8

because so many people are concerned about it. Some are spending all their days

2:50.1

at the moment in the quest for financial freedom. If only I could be free of these

2:54.7

debts or these restrictions and I get this kind of freedom then I'll be really

2:59.0

free. But in actual fact you can be introduced to people who are free of all those limitations financially and they are not free.
