Putting grizzly bears on TV could help save their lives.

That's according to Casey Anderson, one of the hosts of the brand new show, Man versus Bear on Discovery Channel.

Yesterday on our podcast, you heard how passionate Casey is about

grizzly bears after all he's been working with them for more than 25 years

so we asked him straight up why is it okay to have bears compete on a TV show? Is it ethical to turn bears into TV stars?

And Casey gave us one of the most amazing answers basically ever.

Yeah, I know I think that's a really good question and when we should always challenge any show like this that comes out because you know there are times that just for the sheer sake of entertainment where people exploit animals.

In this case, you know, this is obvious been vetted in my heart, you know, to be part of it and the answer to that is yes. Bears do need to be on television in a way that's different and outside of the box.

I go a little deeper there.

You know, let's look at like, you know, you just look at ratings of movies, you know, you

like, like the Marvel movies and all these superhero type movies and you know the

popular culture is gravitating toward that stuff and it's big and sensationalized

but then you know a show like the ones I make as a wildlife filmmaker is kind of your blue chip, you know,

it was a grizzly bear in the woods, it weighs 600 pounds and eats this much.
