0:13.2	There are now more than 1,000 people dead from the coronavirus in the United States.

0:20.9	This time last week, that number was 164.
0:25.0	Yesterday was the deadliest day in the US from coronavirus with 233 people dying in the US in just one day.
0:32.0	All indications show that in the
0:35.0	short term that horrific record will likely continue to be broken day after
0:39.4	day until we reach the peak which will come but could be weeks away.
0:43.7	Dr Anthony Fauchy, the top infectious disease official in the US,
0:47.1	tells CNN that the pandemic is actually accelerating in the US.
0:50.8	And behind all these numbers, of course, let's remember, they're not just numbers, they're
0:53.7	real people. Mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, neighbors and friends currently being
0:58.8	cared for by those on the front lines of this war, health care workers. many of us of course are heeding the calls
1:04.1	from those health care workers and from officials, staying home, trying to avoid going out
