Gerwig channeled Joe March, the fiery heroine of the Louisa May Alcott classic.

Gerwig tells us about rediscovering the 19th century novel in her 30s

and finding it surprisingly modern.

And she explains why she insisted on writing and directing this film version,

even though when she pitched it, before she'd made Lady Bird,

she wasn't exactly qualified.

Hi there. Well, so once again, NBC has a mess on its hands. This is not NBC News, which had the whole

Ronan Farrow, you know, highly foreseeable debacle of this

Ronan Farrow book. Why did they not report the Harvey Weinstein situation? Why did they not report

before that the Billy Bush and Donald Trump conversation? What happened with Matt Lauer?

All of these questions around NBC News has turned into an ongoing problem. Meanwhile,

on the broadcast side, there is now another PR situation, at least. This has started when

Gabrielle Union was not renewed as a judge on America's Got Talent after just one year.

Her husband, Dwayne Wade, actually tweeted about her saying that she was being fired.
