Summary

Gregor MacGregor was a Scottish adventurer who created one of the most notorious scams in history, the Poyais Scam. The scam was centered around a fictitious country called Poyais, which MacGregor claimed was appointed the Cazique, or chief. He made tons of money off the scheme. Unfortunately, many people lost their life savings or worse.
