Ecorefulness is so hot right now, right?

It's in. It is generally hip and cool to care about the environment. And companies know this. Marketing

and PR specialists know that in today's market 2020 right now,

environmentally friendly products sell, hence an increase in the prevalence of greenwashing.

Now many consumers are under the false belief that greenwashing has to be explicit to actually be defined as green washing, but that's not the case.

Remember the Volkswagen scandal back in 2015?

That was when 11 million diesel burning cars worldwide

were fitted with a defeat device that could detect when they were being tested and

change emissions performance accordingly to improve results.

Yes, that was clear and blatant green washing happening there.

It was also illegal, by the way.

But it's important to know that greenwashing can be sneaky and sly and quite implicit too.
