We've got some interesting stuff to talk about today. The term forgotten theater, forgotten battle, forgotten front, what have you, is an oft-utilized moniker for a topic of the war that doesn't get the proper attention it deserves. Usually that forgotten title is applied by someone who thinks that the story of the fumigation and bath companies working ashore on Green Island in 1946 is a forgotten front of the war and also important, but I digress.

When it comes to the Pacific Theater, one can tag a lot of places as forgotten, quite frankly, most of the places.

However, one stands out among the rest when it comes to events that are often overshadowed by others that occurred simultaneously or have taken on greater historical importance.

At Forgotten Campaign is one that consumed the lives of about 11,000 allied soldiers, 7,000 plus Australians and 4,684 Americans, as well as an astonishing, get ready for this,

The New Guinea campaign like Guadalcanal and later the Philippines was not a one-and-done operation.

Fighting in and around New Guinea occurred from 1942 until the end of the war in
