stand if you would as we read the word we're in a new section of the bible together tonight in the

book of hebrews and uh i got to tell you this has been a very difficult several months for me

because we're in romans chapter 12 on sundays and hebrews chapter 12 on wednesdays and that's that

number 12 that gets me going because uh i feel like i'm in the same book all week long.

But this is our first Wednesday night back together in a long time, everybody.

It's been a while.

And can you believe that Charlie Kirk was last Wednesday?

Doesn't it seem like a month ago?

My goodness.

So Hebrews chapter 12, I'll begin reading in verse 25, if you'll pick it up in verse 26.

See that you do not refuse him. That is the Lord who speaks. For if they did not escape who

refused him, who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from him who speaks from heaven.

Whose voice then shook the earth, and now he has promised saying, yet once more, I shape not only the earth, but also heaven.

Wow. Now this, yet once more, indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken

as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Therefore, since we are receiving the kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace by which we can serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

And verse 29 says, for our God is a consuming fire.

Wow.

Lord, we pray that tonight you would be our teacher.

We would be the students.

And Lord, like any journeyman to an apprentice or a teacher to a student

that we would be then now doers of the word may we not acquire any more biblical knowledge
