While the NBA Summer League is going on in Las Vegas,

and I pretty much say this every year,

with the exception of maybe one or two players

on each roster, it's an absolute waste of time.

Now I give the NBA a lot of credit, they've turned it into a marquee event

with every game on TV, a lot of fans flock to the two venues in Las Vegas and it is a big moneymaker for the

NBA.

But teams would be a hell of a lot better off having a seven to ten day mini camp in their respective cities, they'd get a lot more done.

Here's something else about NBA Summer League.

If you're going to be good in the NBA, you sure as hell better be good in Las Vegas,

because if not, the chances of you being good in the

NBA are remote are there exceptions yeah but they are few and far between I'll

never forget years ago going to Las Vegas and running into Bobby Jackson at the

arena before a game.

Bobby was coaching the Summer League team that year and he told me Thomas Robinson

can't play.

I'm like what do you mean he can't play?

Remember the Kings took him with the fourth overall pick?

He goes, man, I'm telling you, he can't play.
