the team over the weekend that he would like to go elsewhere. I don't really

have a problem with that. Lillard has been the consummate professional,

one of the all-time great blazers. He's going to be in the Hall of Fame, but if I'm the blazers, I'm not just going to give him away.

And now all of a sudden, Dame says Miami is this preference.

If I'm the Blazers, yeah, I'll call Miami, but here's the bottom line. You want Lillard? You're going to have to step up to the plate and make it worth my while.

I mean, Blazers are under no obligation to make Lillard feel great just because he has been a dynamite player for the franchise.

Here's the other issue.

The last four years, Portland has finished 13th, 13th, 8th, and 6th, respectively. Two playoff appearances, both first round losses.

Here's the other thing.

Lillard, two seasons ago, played in only 29 games.

Last season, he played in only 58 and was shut down at the end of the

season for the final several weeks. Now I understand that's an organizational

decision but you and I both know

if Lille said hey I'm playing he would have been playing so I don't like that again

I'm not going to kill the guy because his body of work since 2012 when he became a blazer has been top shelf.
