Is there a bigger waste of time?

Is there anything more ridiculous than the NFL combine?

I mean, I don't understand it.

All I've heard all weekend was a 40-yard dash time

of Xavier Worthy out of Texas.

All right?

Personally, I'm not impressed when a guy runs fast

in a 40-yard dash in his shorts and his t-shirt.

Here's what I want to know.

Can he play football? I covered the bears in the mid 80s they had a

former olympian sprinter willy galt yeah he could run, but I also remember him dropping ball after ball after ball.

Yeah, speed is a good thing, but can you play football? Can you play at the level of the national football league? You know what? There are a lot of fast

guys that have come into the league and they have done nothing. As a New York Giants fan in the

early 70s they drafted a sprinter by the name of Rocky Thompson. You know what Rocky

Thompson could do? Returned kickoffs and that's it. Couldn't do anything else and

the first-round pick had a very short NFL career. Again, I am not impressed with a guy that runs

fast in his shorts and his t-shirt and you would have thought that the guy had just
