Dandy of a game last night in Santa Clara, the 49ers in a shootout went 42 to 38, and the game started about as

badly as you could expect a pick six on the first play to make it 7-0. And on the play,

Trent Williams, the all-world left tackle, injured his hamstring and didn't play the rest

of the contest. So that sets up the showdown Saturday night again in Santa

Clara on the 49ers home field. The number one seat up for grabs in the NFC against the Seattle

Seahawks. And you have to ask yourself, how much longer can the 49ers continue to survive with

these bad injuries? I mean, they've done so without Bosa, without Warner.

And now here we are, possibly without Trent Williams. I mean, I can't imagine him being on

the field Saturday night with a hamstring issue. Cornerback Upton Stout had a concussion,

and George Kittle was inactive. That is not the way you want to go into a big game,

a game that would give you a buy and the number one seed against the Seattle Seahawks.

The other thing that is not good is the game is on Saturday night.

That's one less day for the 49ers players to get on the field

and get going for a winner take-all game.

Now, obviously, the losers are still in the playoffs, but what a difference.

What a difference.

That should be a dandy against Saturday night, Seattle at San Francisco.

The final 42 to 38, the Niners, I got to tell you, I didn't think they would be here.

When they lost Posa and lost Warner, I was like, 12 and 4?

12 and 4 with a chance to be the number one seat in the NFC on the final week of the season.
