We are about one hour away from Sean Salisbury talking college and the NFL, but right now we are going to turn our focus to day one of Sacramento King's practice in the books with a night session still to come.

Ron, I was out there this afternoon.

What direction are you going to take us, buddy?

Yeah, from what we said earlier, if you're just joining us, thank you for being here.

Today was very much about showing that they want to be the most conditioned, best prepared team in the NBA. They want to

pick up full court. And when we walked into the gym today, they were doing full court drills

as a team. And another thing that really stuck out to me, Grant, was Dennis Schrooter. He was a point of a lot of conversation.

It seems that the team kind of sees him as this stabilizer, having a bona fide veteran point

guard, floor general on the floor that can play both ends. So Dennis, after practice, was asked about the pace in which the kings wanted to play at.

Here's what Dennis had to say.

I mean, pace.

You said it before.

I think we want to play in the first, you know, eight seconds, get defensive stops and then run.

ahead and you know shoot early in the offense I think that's what we try to you know put our heads

on that's what we try to focus on it's going to to take some time, but I think that's the best basketball

you can play. Grant, I love Pace. Every team in the NBA would do it if they could keep it up

for 82 games. Do you think this is something this team's built to do? Not really.

I do think that pace is important.

And as you said, all 30 teams in the NBA, for the most part, talk about pace in the

preseason.
