Hey good afternoon everybody we get you ready for the Kings and the Celtics coming up in two hours

sad news Willis Reed gone at the age of 80 spent time as a Sacramento Kings

assistant coach when Bill Russell was the head coach and

somebody that I grew up just I can't even begin to tell you the impact that Willis Reed had on.

So many people in the New York metropolitan area, one of the great moments in the history of

Madison Square Garden was him running out of the tunnel, I should say limping out of the tunnel in game seven of the

1970 championship against the Lakers.

And I'll never forget coming to Sacramento for the first time and walking into a king's

luncheon on Northgate Boulevard and Bill Russell was there and Willis Reed was

there and I was more excited to be in the presence of Willis than Bill because of what he meant to a New Yorker and a Nix fan growing up and then Willis could not have been nicer.

You know, that's another thing when you meet somebody and

somebody that you really looked up to and then they're like as nice as can be

Willis Reed was one of the nicest people.

I'll reflect back on his life tomorrow with Jerry Reynolds,

because Jerry worked with him in the front office of the Kings

and Jerry had a tremendous relationship with the captain, Willis Re.

All right, I did a rant on this this morning.

And the NBA schedule never makes sense to me.

And every team can look at parts of the schedule and go this is ridiculous.

This game tonight for the Sacramento Kings is part of a ridiculous schedule.
