Thanks so much for joining us, the US has just beaten Australia 4-3 in a wild Olympic bronze

medal game. Christine, it is 16 AM on our last Olympics podcast. How are you?

I'm great, y'all are getting way more used to my, I just woke up voice than my

normal, diurnal use of my vocal cords. Got some cold brew on tap as usual, going to be setting

myself to space after this. But otherwise feeling good, where bronze medalists, so I will take it,

high five. Yeah, you know, I mean wild game seven goals after these same two teams had zero goals

earlier in this tournament when they played. I think I'm even more angry at the coaches now

for telling their players not to score, not to even try to score in the previous game, knowing

that they they can score seven goals in this game. I mean, apparently they all used every

ounce of defense they had for that game and just were pure vibes this one. So yeah, I was like,

we're heading for the double digits, ladies gentlemen, here we go. And just for sure, you know,

so two goals for Megan Rapinoe, including on Olympic go straight from a corner kick to start things

and a wonderful volley that she had then Carly Lloyd, two goals for her in this game.

Australia makes it tight late, really great goal to make it 4-3 from Gaelic and then

they look like they were threatening for an equalizer when the referee appeared to blow the whistle

right before an Australia corner kick. Do you think if this game had gone like five more minutes

that we might have seen a different score like? Yes, and that's what I was worried about quite frankly.

As we sort of got to that final minute, I started to get worried because we had finally seen sort

of our U.S. women's national team playing today alas. And yeah, with no defense and pretty

shabby like goalkeeping that we were having, I owe a listener an apology because I think I
