Hello and welcome to Hashtag Granny Wisdom on the BBC World Service part of the life

story season.

I'm Hannah Whitton and all this week, stars of social media from around the world have

been posting advice from our grannies on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

We've been asking them about everything from love, to online life, to coping with loss.

We wanted to get a big conversation going between generations, bringing a different perspective

to the youth-dominated, image-obsessed world of social media.

It's been an experiment really.

What happens when our online bubbles are popped by women with a lifetime of experience

under their belts?

By the way, we're not saying that grandad's don't have any wisdom.

We just decided to focus on grannies because they come from a group of people, older women,

whose voices perhaps aren't heard as often in the media.

Sorry, standard.

Yes, I have a grandad called standard.

So over the next hour, we're going to hear the granny wisdom and bring together some

of the social media stars involved to talk about what they learnt from the experience.
