One of the interesting things about the dynamics of the New Testament, if you look at the way certain words that describe things drop out.

For instance, the idea of following Jesus ceases after you come to the end of Acts.

New Testament epistles never talk about Christians as followers of Jesus.

Nor do they talk about Christians as disciples of Jesus?

So I ask, why is this so?

And I think it must be because those were terms which were used in the Gospels

for people who actually were there when Jesus was here with his feet on our ground.

Welcome to help me teach the Bible. I'm Nancy Guthrie. And this is the podcast for people who are constantly wanting to get better at handling God's word. We go to God's word, expecting that God will speak to us through it, and we want to

deeply understand it in such a way that we can teach it to others, that we can be effective,

him talk about them. And so I'm so glad that not only I get to talk to him today, but you
