Hi, welcome back to the Dershow. Tonight is the beginning of the Jewish holiday of

Purim. It's a holiday celebrating the fact that the Persians, now they're called

Iranians, tried to kill the Jewish people by genocide. And the Jews got together

and engaged in a preemptive military attack, essentially, and prevented the Iranians

from destroying them. Does that sound at all relevant to what's going on today?

Are we going to have a real Purim? Will Israel eventually have to engage in a preemptive attack

against the Iranian Mulaz nuclear weapons? So tonight we go to the synagogue, people with

overdone. And we read from an ancient scroll called the Magilla of Esther. And it's an old

scroll. It goes back hundreds and hundreds of years. The story goes back thousands of years

and a cantor reads from it. When I was a kid, I just had to go around to disabled people

and read from it. So I still had to read from it.

And that just means there was a day when the king Akhashferos, who we think is jerksies,

was ruling the nation of Persia, which extended from India to Ethiopia in those days. And so

every time the name of the villain is mentioned in the book, it's not Putin. It's

Heyman, close Heyman. You make a noise maker and you try to blot out his name so people won't

hear it. Look, every religion has its own traditions, every culture is its own tradition.

So tonight is Purim. And in honor of Heyman or in memory of Heyman, we eat a food called

Humintashtan. It's a triangular food made out of delicious filling in the shape of Heyman's

hat, a triangular hat. So if any of you is celebrating a holiday, may you enjoy your humintashtan

now to more contemporary, contemporary issues. So today, you know, we heard two really interesting

speeches, heroic, historic speech to the gathered members of Congress by the president of Ukraine.
