Go with me to 1 Corinthians, the 12th chapter.

1 Corinthians, the 12th chapter.

And the 18th verse.

Now this 12th chapter, 1st Corinthians, a lot of people refer to it as the gifts of the spirit chapter, and it is.

But really there's more said in this chapter about the body of Christ than even the gifts.

But that's no conflict because the gifts manifest through the body.

But let's notice just this particular point here.

In verse 12, said as the body is one and has many members,

and all the members of that one body being many are one body so also is christ for by one

spirit are we all baptized into one body whether we be jews or gentiles whether we be

bond or free and have been all made to drink into one spirit.

How many bodies are there?

Only one.

Only one body of Christ.

And no matter what nationality you are or what your background is, when you're born again,

you become a member, a part of that same

one body.

The body of Christ is compared to a human body.

And the human is a perfect comparison.

The human body is also created by God. We are, as the

psalmist said, fearfully and wonderfully made. Isn't the human body amazing? What other

word can you use to describe it? Amazing.
