David is the founder and director of Mockingbird Ministries and co-host of the Mocking

Cast.

He also serves on the staff of Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He's the author of A Mess of Help from the Crucified Soul of Rock and Roll, and the co-author

of Law and Gospel, A Theology of Sinners and Saints. Most recently, he published Seculosity,

how career, parenting, technology, food, politics, and romance became our new religion

and what to do about it. His father, Paul Zoll, was a well-known, his father, Paul Zol, was a well-respected

theologian in his own right, author of grace and practice, and an advocate for sort of a Lutheran

understanding of the law and the gospel as the primary lenses through which we understand our faith.

David's someone I deeply admire, not just because of his incredibly

helpful understanding of the gospel as a source of deep liberation, but also because

of his humility, his ability to laugh at himself and at the world around him.
