There are experiences in life of weakness, pain, futility, groaning. It may be caused by sickness,

it may be caused by persecution, It may be caused by persecution.

It may be caused by accident.

And in this situation, you don't know whether you're going to get out or not.

You don't know whether God might ordain that you be in it and stay in it and die in it

or whether you might heal you or deliver you.

And you groan not knowing how to lay hold on God for the one or the other.

Now, let me give you some examples from Paul.

Do you remember his thorn in the flesh in 2 Corinthians 12?

We don't know what it was.

It caused him pain and discomfort, to put it mildly, probably.

And he calls out, oh, Christ, have mercy and deliver me. Oh, God, deliver me. Oh, God, take it away.
